This is where I started one month ago on March 9th.
Tomorrow you'll see where I am after 31 days on my Weight Loss Journey, and I must say that I'm anxious to see the progress myself.
If you remember, my plan was to forget everything I'd been taught about "diets" (and I've tried many of them) and focus on a "common sense" approach that blended eating the right foods, smaller portions, and exercise. In other words, a plan that I could live with now, and was sustainable into the future. Too many times I've lost weight only to see it return after the "diet" was over because the plan was not sustainable.
I embraced this question. "If what most people believed was actually true about weight loss, would we have over 65% of our population overweight or obese?"
I've done a ton of reading and investigating over the past couple of months and I'll share with you tomorrow some information on a program that just takes mine to a higher level.
The plan I'll share tomorrow meets all 5 of what I call the Universal Keys to Weight Loss.
1. The weight loss plan must be designed by someone who is healthy and got that way as a result of the plan itself.
2. REAL food must be the basis of the plan. Not prepackaged, pre-mixed, dehydrated or anything else but real whole foods.
3. The plan must educate you on why you're eating what you're eating, what foods to eat more of and what foods to stay away from, and provide real meal plans that make sense whether you're at home or at work everyday.
4. If it isn't sustainable it isn't worth starting because it will only lead to failure.
5. The right weight loss plan must be focused on health and vitality. If you're skinny but feel like crap, you haven't accomplished much.
Okay, enough for today. Please share your comments below and check the blog out tomorrow for the results of the first milestone and an introduction to a program that will make sense as we go forward.
